One of the best protein powders we've tested for Ninja Creami. Exceptional texture, flavor, and macros — this one is hard to beat. Buy this one.

The Review

Shockingly close to real vanilla ice cream — this is the rare vanilla powder that doesn't taste like protein powder pretending to be dessert. The flavor is clean and round, not sharp or artificial, which is exactly what you want at pint scale where off-notes get amplified.

Texture spins out smooth and dense with almost no iciness. It holds up well even if you let it sit for a few minutes before eating, which most powders can't say. The macro profile is excellent — 42g protein at 348 calories per pint is hard to beat in the vanilla category.

Sweetened with stevia and monk fruit, so there's no erythritol from the powder itself (the recipe adds a tablespoon, which is included in the nutrition totals). The stevia is well-dosed — you don't get the bitter finish that ruins a lot of "natural" sweetener powders at this serving size.

Best served plain or with Oreo Thins mixed in after spinning. Banana slices also work surprisingly well. If you're new to protein ice cream and want one powder to start with, this is it.

How It's Scored

Flavor Accuracy

Does it taste like what it says on the label? Artificial notes are penalized.

Creami Texture

How smooth and creamy does it spin? Icy or grainy results score lower.

Macro Efficiency

Protein per calorie ratio. High protein, low calories = better score.

Artificial sweeteners (sucralose, acesulfame-K) are noted and generally result in lower flavor scores. Learn more about the methodology →
